ברכת האילנות<\/strong> – A blessing said upon seeing blossoming fruit trees in Nisan, or the first time one sees flowering trees in the season. For more details, see the Birkat ha-Ilanot Source Sheet<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words of the blessing are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה’ אֱלֹקינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם שֶׁלֹּא חִסַּר בְּעוֹלָמוֹ כְּלוּם וּבָרָא בוֹ בְּרִיּוֹת טוֹבוֹת וְאִילָנוֹת טוֹבוֹת לֵהָנוֹת בָּהֶם בְּנֵי אָדָם.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blessed are You, the L-rd our G-d, Sovereign of the universe, Who has not allowed lack of any kind in His world and created in it good creations and good trees to bring pleasure to humans.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The wording of the blessing, and its circumstances, are laid out in a meimra of Rav Yehuda in Masechet Berachot:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Berachot 43b<\/strong><\/a> Rav Yehuda said: One who goes out during Nisan and sees trees that are blossoming recites: Blessed…who has withheld nothing from His world, and has created in it beautiful creatures and trees for human beings to enjoy.<\/td>ברכות מג<\/a> ע’ ב<\/strong> אָמַר רַב יְהוּדָה: הַאי מַאן דְּנָפֵיק בְּיוֹמֵי נִיסָן וְחָזֵי אִילָנֵי דְּקָא מְלַבְלְבִי, אוֹמֵר: ״בָּרוּךְ שֶׁלֹּא חִיסֵּר בְּעוֹלָמוֹ כְּלוּם וּבָרָא בּוֹ בְּרִיּוֹת טוֹבוֹת וְאִילָנוֹת טוֹבוֹת לְהִתְנָאוֹת בָּהֶן בְּנֵי אָדָם״.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is codified in Rambam, Hilchot Berachot 10:13<\/a> and Tur and <\/a>Shulchan Aruch<\/a> Orach Chaim 226:1<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
