R. Menachem ha-Meiri (1249-c.1315) is one of the leading lights of the unique, and largely lost, community of medieval Jewish Provence. His prolix work languished in manuscript for centuries, but today, happily, we have Meiri’s unique contributions to guide us ably through the Talmud.
